Description

(Sun or Shade Caladium) Great foliage color and interest are key to creating a container combination that will have the neighbors talking! Heart to Heart® 'Burning Heart' Caladium is a Fancy caladium with heart-shaped leaves. 'Burning Heart' features reddish-orange foliage with light orangey-pink speckles, a new and unique color of caladiums. The heart-shaped leaves form an upright mounding habit standing 15-20 inches tall and 10-14 inches wide. Heart to Heart® 'Burning Heart' can be grown in full sun to part shade locations. Caladiums generally do not like to be colder than 50 degrees so plant accordingly to your zone. It is a great thriller for combination planters, or mix in your annual and perennial beds for a colorful leafy addition. Once your warm-weather season is over (in the North), Caladium Heart to Heart® 'Burning Heart' can be brought indoors to be enjoyed as a tropical houseplant. Make sure to keep it in a bright sunny location with temperatures around 65 degrees. Beautiful indoors or out, let Heart to Heart® 'Burning Heart' Caladiums bring joy and color to your home and garden.

I love caladiums and plant many of them every year. I was attracted to this one because of its unusual color. So despite the price (compared to the price of the caladium tubers I usually buy), I ordered it. I planted it where it is in shade in the morning, but gets afternoon sun. The color is indeed unusual and lovely. But I was disappointed in the overall performance of the plant. The stems are weaker than the stems of my other caladiums, and they flop over a day or so after the leaves unfurl. The leaves themselves are not very long-lasting.
