'Autumn Gold' features bright gold daisy-like flowers that start blooming in September and bloom until a hard frost. Standing 24-26 inches tall and wide, the narrow dark green leaves form a mound during the spring and summer. Once Fall arrives 'Autumn Gold' bursts open with loads of golden yellow flowers. Hardy in zones 5-10, this drought-tolerant perennial likes to be grown in full-sun locations. On average, Helianthus 'Autumn Gold' likes to be planted in average to moist soil such as sandy or clay soil. Enjoy the late-season butterflies in your garden. Planted this in early September. It's October and the plant is in full bloom. Planted next to 'October Sky' aster, the blue/purple aster and cheery, sunny yellow brightens my day. No deer or rabbit has touched it, and it survived hurricane 'Helene' a few weeks back. I plan to order more of this plant next year.
