(Seven-Son Flower) Late summer color that lasts well into fall is what you will bring to your landscape with Heptacodium TEMPLE OF BLOOM®. Early summer the glossy green foliage awaits the arrival of the mid to late summer fragrant white blooms. Although these blooms are very short lived lasting up to 1 week before they drop, they are soon followed by bright red bracts that appear putting on an intense show of color well into the late fall. Heptacodium TEMPLE OF BLOOM® is superior to the older varieties and puts on a grand show of color. In the fall the bark starts to peel leaving unique texture on the plant. This fast growing variety attracts hummingbirds and butterflies with is sweet nectar. Hardy in zones 5-9 and standing 6-10 foot tall and wide, TEMPLE OF BLOOM® Seven Son Flower can be trained into tree form and tolerates full sun to part shade locations. I have wanted a Temple of Bloom for years, and I finally had room for one. I ordered the quart size during the heat wave in June. It arrived very soon after ordering. I watered it as soon as I received it, and planted it soon after. I did order the Temple of Bloom after it received it’s summer haircut at the nursery, and it still had 4 or 5 branches-I was excited!!! It is now July and my Temple of Bloom has doubled in size. She is staked to train into tree form. I am beyond pleased with my purchase, I am blessed! Thank you to Garden Crossings for a flawless process, from ordering to delivery-perfect! I would definitely recommend the quart size for its ease in shipping and fantastic value. She even has a name, Shirley:)
