Description

(Hosta) Hosta 'Liberty' is a gorgeous sport of Hosta 'Sagae' with very wide creamy yellow margins that fade to white later in the season. 'Liberty' releases its lavender flowers in early summer which make great cut flowers and a nice contrast against its green foliage. It is a large hosta that typically grows in an upright vase-shape to about 20-24" tall. The foliage forms a mounding habit and will typically spread over time to 30-36" wide. Hostas are primarily grown in the shade for their beautiful ornamental foliage and they thrive in moderate to moist soils. This hosta is hardy in zones 3-9, but for warmer zones, be sure to keep them in the shade for best results. A Garden Crossings favorite and a real attention getter! Plant as a border, in mass, or in containers. Its foliage will add a great bit of color to enjoy in spring, summer, and fall. Hosta 'Liberty' will attract bees and hummingbirds making it a great pollinator plant.

True Beauty

A true beauty. I have several planted in various places in the yard. They don't seem to mind several hours of sun in the northeast summers. The yellow borders turn a nice creamy white, tall and upright, just a real head turner!
