Description

(Rose of Sharon) When looking for Rose of Sharon, typically foliage interest isn't the first thing that comes to mind. That is not the case with Hibiscus Paraplu Adorned®, which features stunning variegated foliage. The foliage emerges in the spring with bright shades of yellow-green, and as the summer goes on, bright green splotches appear. The variegation on the maple leaf looking foliage comes and goes depending on the temperatures. Midsummer lavender flowers with a bright magenta eye emerge and flower until Fall. Standing 8-10 feet tall and spreading 3-4 feet wide, Hibiscus Paraplu Adorned®  forms an upright columnar habit. Hardy in zones 5-8, Rose of Sharon likes to be planted in full sun to part shade locations. This long-blooming shrub starts to flower mid-summer and goes into the Fall. It is a deer-resistant shrub that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Blooming on the new growth, if needed, we recommend trimming in the Fall or early spring. Hibiscus Paraplu Adorned® is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Shrub.
