Description

(Blue Sage) A fragrant thriller for your containers and landscape, Playin' the Blues® Salvia. Standing 24-48 inches tall, the purplish blue spikes of Playin' the Blues® create a great focal point for mixed containers. This continuous blooming Salvia is sterile, which means more flowers for you. Planted in full sun, you may enjoy the flutter of butterflies and hummingbirds checking out the blooms. Drought tolerant and deer resistant are just two of the great attributes Playin' the Blues® brings. We recommend regular watering and fertilizing every 1-2 weeks for continuous growth and blooms. You may find that it is taller than you want, so we recommend giving it a trim, which will in turn, create branching and even more blooms! You may notice that Playin' the Blues® salvia attracts bees, keep that in mind when planting. We encourage plants that will support our bee population.

Wow, these plants were just beautiful upon arrival! Your method of packing the plants for shipping is excellent! I ordered three of these and each one had healthy buds, and the plants themselves could not have been healthier. This particular type of salvia is an absolute bee magnet. I planted in my flower beds last year and they were the last flowering plants in my flowerbeds, lasting into October in Michigan! My local nursery did not carry these this year, so glad I found them on your site, and to have them arrive so healthy was awesome! You definitely have a repeat customer. Thank you! (would like to have included pictures, but couldn’t see how to do it)

Rockin’ Playin’ The Blues is my favorite plant of the 2023 season. The pollinators love it. I Love It! Low maintenance and continuously blooming. It’s a perennial for me in 7b. I also would like to compliment GC on their EXCELLENT and OUTSTANDING customer service. Heidi both called and emailed me as a follow up to a question I had. The plants I ordered arrived as if I picked them up at my local nursery.

Dynamite plant. Vigorous bloomer all season. Little care. Deer did not eat it! Wonderful cut flower.
