(Salvia) When planting a garden, I always find it important to have a few plants that attract specific creatures to the garden such as hummingbirds and butterflies. If you agree, Salvia Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a must! The crisp indigo blue flowers with dark black calyx stand 30-40 inches tall. The wide open flowers create a perfect invite for the hummingbirds. These long blooming annuals have deep green foliage that compliments the tall blue flower spikes. Planted in full sun to part shade, Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is an easy to grow annual in average to semi poor soil conditions once established. A great thriller for containers as well as a nice specimen for mass planting, Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a hummingbird and butterfly magnet, a perfect selection for a pollinator garden. Rockin® Blue Suede Shoes™ is a sterile Salvia which means no energy goes into producing seeds, its only job is to send out more flowers all summer long. If you feel like it is getting to tall, it is no problem to give it a trim. Trimming will encourage additional branching and more flowers to enjoy.

Hummingbirds went crazy for this Salvia. I tried it in both pots and garden beds where it thrived all summer.

I put this plant in a planter for my mom and set it on my porch to make another one for my mother in law. Within 5 minutes I had hummingbirds, more than one, going crazy over this plant!
I will use this in my planters from now on because they are gorgeous and fill out beautifully!
