Description

(Sage) Living up to its name, 'Silver Scent' Salvia features silver, soft foliage that has a strong fragrance. It is similar to the sage you would cook with in the kitchen! Grown mostly for its foliage interest and scent, it also produces small blue flowers in the spring. 'Silver Scent' is hardy in zones 5-9, and can withstand temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Growing in a mounded habit, it can reach a maximum height of 21-24 inches and can spread up to 31-34 inches wide. It makes a great filler in container combinations or it can fill out a container all on its own. Plant in areas that receive full sun exposure and water moderately. Given the fuzz on its foliage and its scent, it is naturally deer resistant, so you won't have to worry about these critters munching away at the plant. Try pairing 'Silver Scent' Salvia with yellow or blue flowering annuals to put on a show of color all season long!
