(Begonia Rex) A unique addition to the Space Age™ series, Space Age™ Black Hole™ Begonia is appropriately named given the color patterns of its foliage. Each leaf features a dark pink center surrounded by light green on the outer leaf with dark green veins and a dark burgundy border on the edges. This dense foliage forms a nice mounding habit and makes a great plant for shade gardens, or as a filler for containers. In the late summer, small red flowers will appear adding a nice compliment to the dark foliage. We recommend feeding your annuals once a week with a water-soluble fertilizer. Plant in average, well-drained soil and water regularly. This easy to care for annual can grow to a height and spread of 15-18 inches. Rex begonias are deer and rabbit resistant annuals. Add Space Age™ Black Hole™ Begonia to your garden or container combinations!

  1. Gerard Ziegler

Summer through fall performance was excellent in a north facing shaded bed. The plants filled in nicely with a very uniform habit, and the foliage color pattern was eye-catching. I dug up a few after the first fall frost to try indoors. Didn’t get around to really potting them for several weeks, but the plants were very forgiving. They have made excellent houseplants through the winter months, with no problems of any kind, and have tolerated both overly wet and overly dry conditions equally well. Today I noticed a plant I’d positioned in a west window looked stunning as it was being backlit by the afternoon sun, reminiscent of stained glass, which prompted me to post this review.
