Description
(Spirea) Enjoy the beautiful colors of Spiraea twice over! The Double Play® series of Spirea are bred for beautiful flowers as well as foliage. Double Play® Red Spirea does just that! The dense mound of dark green foliage starts off with a burgundy hue in the spring and in early summer, Double Play® Red is heavily dappled with clusters of Reddish Magenta shades of blooms. Watch out! You may even see a hummingbird or butterfly fluttering around. If deer are a problem in your garden, no worries, Double Play® Red is a deer resistant shrub. The neat, mounding habit of Double Play® Red stands 2-3 foot tall and wide. Hardy in zones 4-9, Spirea is a very versatile planted in a full sun to part shade location and makes a great border or foundation planting.
