Supercal® Premium Sunset Orange Petchoa

(Petunia x Calibrachoa) Living up to its name, SuperCal® Premium Sunset Orange Petchoa features stunning blooms with golden yellow and orange hues. A prolific bloomer, it gives the illusion of a sunset and makes a wonderful addition to the garden. Petchoa is a cross between a petunia and calibrachoa with the appearance of a petunia. The key differences between petchoa and traditional petunias are their resilience to harsh weather and their ability to self-clean. While traditional petunias are sensitive to late spring frost, heavy rain, and the heat of the summer, petchoas can handle these conditions with ease. Additionally, petchoas don't require deadheading as traditional seed petunias do. SuperCal® Premium Sunset Orange Petchoa has an average vigor and grows in a mounding habit. It can reach a height of 14-20 inches and a width of 14-22 inches. Just like traditional petunias, it makes a gorgeous addition to containers, container combinations, or hanging baskets. Its growth habit also makes it a great border plant for garden edges, or you can do a mass planting for a sea of color. Petchoas like to be grown in full-sun areas of the garden and require regular watering to keep the soil moist. We recommend trimming back your petchoa once in the midsummer to promote a second flush of blooms and to prolong its bloom time.
