(Lilac) The most fragrant lilac in our collection, Scentara™ Double Blue! If you are looking for lilacs that are larger than our compact Bloomerang® Lilac look to add Scentara™ Double Blue to your landscape. Standing 6-8 foot tall and spreading up to 10 foot wide Lilac Scentara™ Double Blue is the size of the old fashioned lilacs. What sets this lilac apart is it has better mildew resistance than older varieties. The thick dark green foliage is a wonderful back drop to the large clusters of blooms. Lilac Scentara™ Double Blue features huge flower heads made up of double purplish blue flowerettes. The fragrance is like none other. Hardy down to zone 2, Scentara™ Double Blue like to be grown in full sun locations with good drainage. Lilac can tolerate clay conditions. Enjoy the sweet scent of lilacs by trimming a few branches for a vase to set on your table. Lilacs are a long lived, deer resistant shrub that make a great border, hedge or foundation plant. Perfect for a cutting garden as well. Lilac Scentara™ blooms off of old growth, so if pruning is needed we recommend doing so after the plant is done blooming. Lilac Scentara™ Double Blue is a PROVEN WINNERS® COLORCHOICE® Flowering Shrub.
