Description

(Wishbone Flower) Catalina® Midnight Blue Torenia starts blooming early and blooms through the fall. The flowers on Catalina® Midnight Blue are deep blue with a yellow throat. The snapdragon-like petals are joined with two stamens making a wishbone appearance in the throat of the flower. The unique trailing and mounding habit makes this a great choice for both hanging baskets and combination planters. This plant performs well in shady locations and is easy to grow in the landscape as a specimen plant or ground cover. If deer are a problem in your area, no worries. The critters do not like Torenia and will leave them alone. For best performance, fertilize every one to two weeks with Proven Winners® water soluble plant food.

Beautiful, healthy plants arrived and started blooming shortly after transplant. They are blooming nonstop and cascading over the side of the planter. Bees love them! It's fun to watch a big bumblebee disappear inside the trumpet-shaped flower and then re-emerge. Hummingbirds like them, too. And best of all, they do great in the shade! Mine are in shade most of the day and get late-afternoon sun.

Without a doubt my favorite summer flower. Nothing compares with that beautiful blue color that only a torenia has.

Heavy Bloomers

Stunning blue-purple flowers with happy yellow spot. I plants a mass of them every year. Heavy bloomer, showy. Tolerate Dallas heat, but they do need mostly shade and extra water when the mercury rises. There's just something about these unique, charming beauties.
