(Weigela) Add a crisp and refreshing shrub to your garden by adding VINHO VERDE® Weigela. This unique selection features lime green leaves with distinguished black margins. This is a unique variegated sport of golden Briant’s Rubidor’ and burgundy ‘Naomi Campbell’. Like many variegated plants, occasional reversion may occur to all black. Grown mostly for its foliage, it does have a light cycle of red-pink blooms in the spring. Growing 3-5 feet tall and wide, VINHO VERDE® is a deciduous shrub that is hardy in zones 5-8. Adaptable to most soil conditions, including clay, Weigela is an easy-to-grow shrub. The unique foliage makes this a beautiful addition to the landscape. Plant as a specimen, hedge, or in mass, pair with SUNJOY® Citrus Barberry as a great companion plant. VINHO VERDE® Weigela is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.

Love, love, love the dual color the leaves of this Weigela offer in our garden. We have a very green/purple theme and it ties in so well. It almost has a “camo effect” in the leaves, which is a huge hit in my husbands opinion!
