See what our great customers had to say about the Clematis 'Prince Charles'
Not a particularly strong grower for me, more "delicate," but lovely. The delicate blue color exactly duplicates the color of Geranium "Rozanne" elsewhere in my garden.
This beauty is the star of my garden. Even though I had no more room for another clematis, I ended up ordering 3 more. It has the most flowers of all my clems and the color is haunting. All were from Garden Crossings and they were pretty well-established for a mail order clem.
(Clematis) Clematis 'Prince Charles' is a clematis with incredible flower power! The compact plants bloom profusely for a long time from July through September. The 4" mauve-blue, semi-nodding flowers are deeply ribbed with a slight twisting habit. Contrasting yellow anthers royally add to the scene. 'Prince Charles' is ideal for a container plant!
Clematis Prune Group 3- Varieties within this group flower on the new season's growth; they are often the most vigorous cultivars. Prune all of the main stems back to about 3 feet above the ground in February or March, leaving at least one pair of strong looking buds on each stem. Also remove any dead or weak stems at this time.
