(Sweet Potato Vine) Ipomoea ‘Blackie’ has stunning deep purple, almost black foliage that flows freely over the edge of hanging baskets and combination planters. Ipomoea ‘Blackie’ also makes a great annual groundcover in the landscape. ‘Blackie’ is one of the shorter Ipomoeas growing to a height of 6-10 inches, but it can trail up to 72 inches. You may trim or cut back ‘Blackie’ at any time to keep it in bounds. Grow ‘Blackie’ in full sun to part shade and watch as it adds spectacular interest to your garden. ‘Blackie’ is particularly stunning, and contrasts well with bright pink and yellow companions.
