(Persian Shield) Strobilanthes 'Persian Shield' is a striking plant. It has thick, deeply veined leaves that have a purple, green and silver iridescent shimmer to them. Strobilanthes 'Persian Shield' can be grown in sun, but for best leaf color, plant in part to full shade. 'Persian Shield' is heat and drought tolerant and will grow 18-36" high and 18-24" wide. You may pinch back 'Persian Shield' to promote a bushier plant, especially if it is in the shade. Use as a thriller in your combination plantings or in the landscape. During winter in colder climates, 'Persian Shield' may also be brought inside as a house plant.
