(Pig Squeak) Bergenia DRAGONFLY™ Sakura is sure to be noticed with its shiny, cabbage-like leaves that have an unusually thick rubbery feel. It makes a pig squeak sound when rubbed between your fingers. In the winter, the leaves of this evergreen perennial turn to a deep purple black color. This evergreen has clusters of bright pink flowers, double to semi double, from early to late spring that will provide long lasting cut blooms for bouquets. The flowers remind you of tight clusters of cherry blossoms. Sakura in Japanese, means cherry blossom. DRAGONFLY™ Sakura is a versatile plant that is drought tolerant. Use it as a groundcover, edging or for container gardening. Enjoy this deer resistant plant in your gardens!
