Tomato

What’s tastier than a homegrown tomato picked right off the vine? Nothing! If you’re a tomato-growing afficianado, or are new to gardening, Garden Crossings has the tomato varieties you need to keep your sauces simmering and your sandwiches stacked this summer. We have heirloom tomatoes and hybrid tomatoes, grape tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Have you tried growing orange tomatoes? We have several varieties! Tomatoes grow best in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. All but patio type tomatoes benefit from staking or should be enclosed in tomato cages. We’ve found that mulching tomato plants with grass clippings or hardwood mulch helps retain moisture and avoid cracking. If your soil pH is less than 6.0, add garden lime before planting to grow the healthiest plants
