Forsythia

Forsythia bushes are among nature’s earliest spring bloomers, planted in your favorite sunny spot. The flowers appear with a bounty of large, golden yellow flowers that bloom from the ground up. Forsythia develops a beautiful deep green foliage that is a great addition to mixed plantings. This may be used as a specimen shrub, and as an added bonus, is deer resistant. Forsythia offers a 5-6 foot upright habit as well as a 1-3 foot upright dwarf variety. The fuller and more compact habits perform better than older varieties, and need little pruning, but may be trimmed after the flowering season has ended.
