Pineapple lily

Bring the tropics to your garden or containers with Pineapple Lily. Also known by its proper name of Eucomis, Pineapple Lily is a long-lived perennial bulb that can be grown in zones 5 or 6 (depending on variety) to 10. The fleshy, pointed leaves give way to flower spikes that look like miniature pineapples where a multitude of starry blooms open from the bottom up. Pineapple Lilies prefer full sun locations but light shade in hot climates is acceptable. They tolerate most soil conditions except overly wet ones, so choose a well-drained site.
