Pink berries on a shrub? Yes! Coral Berry or Symphoricarpos is a North American native plant that has head-turning unique pink berry clusters in the fall. The attractive, bluish-green foliage is the perfect backdrop for bell-shaped flowers in late summer, followed by dark pink berries in the fall that intensify with the cold temperatures. While the berries are not edible for humans, they may be eaten by birds in mid-late winter. This shrub is extremely tolerant, deterring deer and shrugging off cold weather and problem soils. It also makes an excellent cut flower for fall arrangements!
