Holly Inkberry - Ilex
Inkberry Holly is a broadleaf evergreen that is a native alternative to boxwood. If you’ve had issues growing boxwood before, Inkberry is a great replacement choice. It has a dense growth habit with small dark green leaves and, will produce small white flowers in spring that will attract pollinators. Growing best in zones 5-9, Inkberry Holly prefers moist acidic soil and a part to full sun location, although it does have good shade tolerance. Inkberry is perfect for use as an evergreen hedge, border plant or in containers.
