Hosta Silly String
- Frilly Foliage,
- Thin Leaves,
- Compact Size
(Hosta) There is one hosta that grabs my attention every time I visit the garden, that Hosta is ‘Silly String’! The unique strappy thin foliage is hard to miss. Starting off blue in the early season, the foliage turns more blue-green as the summer progresses. The wavy texture is perfectly suited for this compact hosta that stands 14 inches tall and 28 inches wide. This heavy bloomer produces purple flowers in early summer reaching heights of 17-27 inches tall. Planted in full to part shade locations, ‘Silly String’ Hosta prefers average to fertile soil conditions. Hardy in zones 3-9, hosta is a very easy-to-grow perennial that is adaptable in just about any location. The compact size of Hosta ‘Silly String’ and unique foliage make this a great selection for garden borders. Enjoy the hummingbirds as they visit your garden.
