(Clematis) RUUTEL™ Clematis is one of the very best red clematis! The magenta red color is stunning and complemented by nearly black anthers. These star shaped flowers begin putting on a strong performance in early spring, blooming on and off during the summer followed by a new flush in late summer. RUUTEL™ is a vigorous grower and an exceptionally heavy bloomer! Standing 8-10 foot tall, RUUTEL™ grows well on trellis and arbor applications. The compact habit also makes this cultivar an excellent choice for patio containers. The tops of RUUTEL™ Clematis like the sun, however the roots like to stay cool and shaded by location or additional mulch. Spent blooms should be trimmed to promote the second wave of flowers.

Vigorous Grower
Purchased and planted in a large container this spring. Vigorous grower, lots of blooms for young plant. Seems to be tolerating our heat. Gave it a 4 stars because color isn’t quite as rich in our heat and relentless sun. Still, I’d recommend it to anyone.
