Details

(Tufted Hair Grass) The perfect size ornamental grass for small places that need a touch of color and interest. Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Northern Lights’ is a compact grass standing only 12 inches tall and spreading up to 16-18 inches wide. This compact grass is the perfect size for adding a thriller to containers or filling in around the edges in your garden. The narrow bi color blades are a bright green color with creamy white edges. In cooler temperatures the edges glow in a subtle tone of pink and blue. In mid to late summer tan seed heads emerge slightly above the foliage. Planted in full sun is prefered but, Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Northern Lights’ will handle part shade locations. This native grass is the perfect addition to borders, containers, or for placing a small specimen here and there. Enjoy the beauty of Deschampsia cespitosa ‘Northern Lights’ as it adds motion to your landscape.
