(Rose Mallow) Sometimes the color of flowers seem to good to be true. That is the case with Hardy HIbiscus ‘Airbrush Effect’! The large 8 – 8 ½ inches blooms feature heavily puckered petals with a stunning medium pink color that fades to lighter pink with a deep magenta eye. The overlapping petals create a fuller looking flowers. Standing 3-4 foot tall and spreading to 4.5 foot wide the dense deep green leaves create a nice mounded shape shrub. Starting mid summer the beautiful blooms start to emerge and cover this plant from the base to the top with its extra large flowers. Hardy Hibiscus ‘Airbrush Effect’ likes to be grown in full sun to part shade locations in fertile to dry soil conditions( once established). Rose Mallow are native in the US and attract hummingbirds to the garden. No need to worry about the deer, Hardy Hibiscus are deer resistant. ‘Airbrush Effect’ gives you a great focal point or specimen to add to your garden. Something to note, Hardy Hibiscus are late to emerge in the garden so be patient if other flowers are blooming and you see not signs of your hibiscus. Once it emerges it grows quickly and is ready to put on a show of color mid summer.
