(Buttonbush) SUGAR SHACK® Cephalanthus is an amazing compact button bush. While Buttonbush has often been looked at as a not very exciting shrub, things are about to change! SUGAR SHACK® buttonbush has a compact habit of 4-5 foot creating a nice ball shaped habit. The foliage has an attractive gloss to it that is a nice contrast to the midsummer white blooms. The blooms are heavily fragranced with a sweet scent and in the late summer turn into small red balls of fruit. The new foliage growth is red in color and in the fall the leaves turn to a burgundy color. SUGAR SHACK® gives you a full season of interest and color. Buttonbush prefers to be planted in full sun to part shade, and don’t mind if they are in a moist location. A PROVEN WINNERS® COLORCHOICE® Flowering Shrub.

I received a nice healthy large shrub. Much larger than I anticipated. Can’t wait for it to bloom. Will be perfect where it is planted.

  2. Tammy

I was drawn to this shrub because of its unusual flowers. They have a sweet fragrance that attracts butterflies.
