Petchoa is a hybrid of petunias and calibrachoas with the flower power and shape of petunias, and the intense flower color of calibrachoas. No deadheading is required of this hybrid variety as it has improved self-cleaning capabilities. Also, it can withstand and bounce back easily from harsh weather conditions such as late spring frost, heavy rain, and the high heat of the summer. SuperCal® Premium Purple Dawn Petchoa features hot purple-pink blooms and dark green foliage. It is a vigorous grower, growing in a mounded habit that can reach a height of 16-24 inches and a width of 18-26 inches. It blooms early on in the season and it can be trimmed back once midsummer to encourage more branching and a fresh flush of blooms to prolong its bloom time. Petchoa prefers to be grown in full-sun locations. It is a wonderful addition to your hanging baskets, window boxes, or container combinations. It can also be planted as a border plant or mass planting in the garden. It likes to be kept well-watered and fed throughout the season.
