(False Sunflower) Heliopsis ‘Bit of Honey’ features white foliage with deep green veining giving this Heliopsis interest all season long. Standing 24 to 28 inches tall and 30 inches wide, the dense habit is perfect for the middle of the garden. ‘Bit of Honey’ blooms midsummer until early fall with 3-3 ½ inch golden-yellow blooms with multiple rows of petals creating a nice full flower. Hardy in zones 4-9, Heliopsis likes to be grown in full sun to part sun locations and prefers well-drained soil. This drought-tolerant perennial may be a bit later to emerge in the spring, waiting on the heat to emerge. Plant as a specimen, create a border, or plant in a container for summer enjoyment. The attractive foliage and flowers are a nice selection for cutting, to create a decorative table arrangement. This American native perennial is easy to grow once established and blooms for the better half of the summer. Heliopsis ‘Bit of Honey’ is a member of the Proven Winners® Perennial Collection.

Anxious to see this plant grow. The plant was not in good shape when it arrived but is doing well now.

  2. Shelly

This review is more how the plants arrived, and not as much how it’s doing (I feel like it’s too early for that). The plants I ordered arrived in AMAZING condition!!! I opened the box and the plants were pristine. One of the cans of were cracked, but it was still moist. I just quickly planted it with Garden Tone (I don’t have BioTone on hand at the moment) and watered it in. I expect it to be fine. The others I hope to get planted this evening. Thank you so much!!! I have been looking for this particular plant for 3 years locally. I’m so glad you guys had it!
