Heidi’s Pick

I love the late summer color of Rudbeckia but I wish it started earlier. If you feel this same way, give ‘Tuscan Sun’ a try. It is a long bloomer that starts to show color in early summer. Drought tolerant so it will stand up to the heat of the summer. ‘Tuscan Sun’ is one of thise hard working perennials.

    Winner
Wonderfully compact Heliopsis. Golden yellow blooms similar to coreopsis and mildew free monarda like foliage. It’s a winner in my garden.

  2. Marcia | Zone: 7a

    Favorite
This is my favorite perennial because of its long season of bloom. It also pops up here and there in my garden, but it is not invasive. I did have a problem with it last year. This plant and only this plant was covered by some kind of insect. I sprayed it and saved the plants, but they were not as nice as other years and the insect kept reappearing. I hope our harsh winter will have killed the insect this year.

  3. Joyce H | Zone: 4b

    Great
This is a great heliopsis. Compact and blooms from mid to late June until frost in my zone 4 garden.

  4. David Z | Zone: 4b

    A Standout
It is a great heliopsis because of the compact size. Bright golden blooms over most of the summer on a hardy perennial makes it a standout. Most perennials have just a limited season of bloom.
