(Hosta) A unique foliage form, a true collectors hosta. ‘Praying Hands’ features dark green strappy leaves that nearly fold totally over. The foliage features a matte finish top and a glossy underside that shows on the folded leaves. Standing 14-19 inches tall and up to 16 inches wide, ‘Praying Hands’ Hosta forms an upright mound. Late summer lavender flowers emerge on their 18-inch scapes. Hardy in zones 3-9, ‘Praying Hands’ prefers to be planted in full to part shade locations with average to fertile soil. With the uniqueness of ‘Praying Hands’ hosta, it can be a great container plant (a great gift), or an easy-to-grow specimen or border plant for your shade garden. The unique foliage and flowers also make a great addition for cut flower bouquets.

    Thoughtful Gift
This is one of my favorite Hosta. It looks great in a container either in the middle planted with Lamium or alone. As the name suggests it looks like the leaves are folding out and upward. It is a perfect plant to give someone who has suffered a loss. This is a permanent gift that does not have to be thrown out. It will come up year after year if planted in a shady part of a garden and thus becomes a new life on its own. It would be a very thoughtful gift or become one of your favorite plants to look for every spring.

    A Living Prayer
I just added two of these to my Hosta collection and love them. The previous reviewer gave me the idea to order one as a gift for a close relative who has just been diagnosed with cancer. She is also an avid gardener, who will appreciate a living prayer.
