(Jamesbrittenia) If you love the look of Sutera but wished it performed a bit better in the heat, that is where Jamesbrittenia SAFARI® Dusk fits into your garden plans. The SAFARI® series is a heat-tolerant South African species that is part of the Sutera ( Bacopa) family. The bright bicolor blooms of SAFARI® Dusk features deep purple blooms with a gold eye. Standing 6- 12 inches tall and spreading/trailing up to 2 feet long, Jamesbrittenia is a perfect replacement for trailing Sutera. Planted in full to part sun locations, SAFARI® Dusk likes average moisture with good drainage. It does not like to have ‘wet feet’. Blooming all summer long, SAFARI® Dusk Jamesbrittenia is a perfect selection for hanging baskets, containers as well as ground plantings. When planting we recommend an application of continuous release fertilizer. Midway through the summer or if your plants look like they could benefit from a trim, we recommend trimming one-third of the plant back, this will encourage new growth and a fuller flowering plant.

This is a fabulous plant! We’ve already hit the 90s down here in Arkansas, and this little beauty is looking incredible, full of gorgeous blooms. I have them in full blazing sun, in a metal wheelbarrow, and I couldn’t be happier with them. Highly recommend!
