(Maiden Grass) ‘Morning Light’ is a beautiful and elegant vase-shaped Miscanthus. Its fine-textured foliage is distinctly variegated with white edges that appear almost silver when viewed from a distance. This variegation catches the sunlight and illuminates the graceful clump, hence the name ‘Morning Light’. Blooms appear later in the season and emerge bronze-red and then turn cream as they age. Although elegant and refined, ‘Morning Light’ Miscanthus is dense and upright and will not flop. ‘Morning Light’ is drought and salt tolerant, prefers full sun and average, well-drained soil, but can tolerate part shade. An excellent specimen plant for the back of a border, center of an island or in a large container where its beauty can be enjoyed close-up!

Centerpiece
I ordered this plant last year and used it for a centerpiece in a large pot. It arrived healthy and beautiful as always with Garden Crossings and was perfect for the job. It got large enough to fill out the arrangement and was gorgeous. After its job as centerpiece it got a comfy spot in the garden!
