(Missouri Evening Primrose) A beautiful low-growing ground cover that blooms in the evening. Oenothera ‘Evening Rose’ features a mass of bright yellow blooms that open in the late afternoon and continue to shine when the sun goes down. Standing a compact 3-6 inches tall and 15-18 inches wide, ‘Evening Sun’ forms a mound with its silvery green foliage. Hardy in zones 5-9, Oenothera ‘Evening Rose’ likes to be planted in a full sun location with well-drained soil. This North American native is very adaptive to a wide range of soil types. Once established, Oenothera ‘Evening Rose’ is drought tolerant. A deer and rabbit-resistant perennial, Missouri Evening Primrose is often enjoyed by butterflies. A great addition to rock gardens, and borders and a wonderful filler for holes in the garden.
