(Rose of Sharon) If you love the look of Rose of Sharon but wished they had a narrow and more columnar habit, we have one just for you! RED PILLAR® Hibiscus stands 10-16 feet tall and gets only 3 feet wide. The upright columnar habit is perfect for entryways, patio containers, or small spaces in the garden. Mid-summer deep magenta blooms emerge with a cherry red eye blooming into Fall. Planted in full sun to part sun locations, Hibiscus RED PILLAR® is hardy in zones 5-9 and grows well in well-drained soil conditions. Pruning is rarely needed, but if desired we recommend trimming in the fall or early spring, RED PILLAR® Rose of Sharon blooms on the new growth.
