(Black Snakeroot) Actaea ‘Chocoholic’ is a true collector’s item because of the striking dark foliage. Its dark, blackish green foliage creates a dramatic and aesthetic appearance for any garden. Some sun is required for the rich dark colors to appear. In the fall, the beautiful foliage gives rise to fragrant, pink bottlebrush flowers that fade to white as they age. The blush pink-white blooms look stunning as it contrasts with the dark foliage. ‘Chocoholic’ adds a sense of calm to your shade garden with its lacy foliage. Pair with bright yellow or variegated hostas for a stunning contrast. ‘Chocoholic’ Cimicifuga grows well in moist soil conditions. Cimicifuga takes a few years to hit maturity and when it does, it is best not to divide. ‘Chocoholic’ is a deer and rabbit resistant variety that attracts butterflies. This is a great selection for borders and mass plantings. A great choice for woodland and shade gardens.
