(Obedient Plant) This obedient plant is a well-behaved variety that forms a nice, slow-growing clump. Standing 16-18 inches tall and wide, Physostegia ‘Autumn Carnival’ forms an upright mounding clump. The purplish pink flowers that resemble those of a snapdragon, line the stems in late summer into Fall. Hardy in zones 5-9, Obedient Plant ‘Autumn Carnival’ likes to be grown in full sun locations. ‘Autumn Carnival’ prefers rich, moist soil locations and will handle being planted near the edge of ponds and streams. This wonderful native perennial attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and pollinators to the garden. Enjoy the long stems with beautiful flowers indoors as a cut flower. As the flowers fade, give your plant a light trim for additional flowers later in the season. The obedient Plant ‘Autumn Carnival’ is a deer and rabbit-resistant perennial.
