(Foamflower) A full palate of color is what Jade Peacock Tiarella brings to the garden. The year round interest that Tiarella bring to the shade and part shade garden is amazing. In the spring, Jade Peacock starts off as a yellowish green color with dark burgundy veins. As the summer progresses and the temperatures warm up, the leaves turn a deep jade green with dark purple/black centers. In the winter, this year round evergreen perennial turns a rich burgundy red color with deep black veins. In early to mid summer, Jade Peacock sends up spikes that have clusters of pink flower buds that open to a white, lightly fragrant bloom. Native to the United States, Tiarella are deer resistant plant that forms a tight clumping habit. Grown for its foliage, Jade Peacock is a wonderful addition to woodland gardens, as well as planted as a border, in mass, or as a selection for combination planters.
