(Clematis) ‘Duchess of Albany’ Clematis is a vigorous grower with 1-2″ bell-shaped flowers. These unique flowers are fragrant and have light pink petals with darker magenta center bars. These petals form an upside-down bell-shaped flower. ‘Duchess of Albany’ is excellent for late summer color blooming from July through September. It can reach an impressive height of 8-12 feet tall so be sure to plant around a tall wall, trellis, or obelisk to support the plant. ‘Duchess of Albany’ Clematis is a part of prune group 3 which means it blooms on this season’s growth. It is recommended to cut back the plant in the late winter (February or March). You’ll want to make sure you leave a couple of sets of buds on each stem for the best results. Clematis are a great way to add vertical interest to the garden. Try pairing this clematis with other clematis varieties on the same trellis for a wall of color in the summer! Flower color may vary based on the environment.

Very Healthy
I am in zone 5. I planted this Clematis under my mature Magnolia Tree so it could grow up through the branches. We just passed our 3rd summer and it made it to the top and started to bloom. It was not a real heavy bloom but now it has reached the sun, I’m excited to see what next summer brings. I do not baby my plants at all and it is very healthy.

Prolific Bloomer
Last year’s plant grew up into my Confederate Jasmine vine. It was a prolific bloomer for almost 2 months. I’m looking forward to my new purchase doing just as well.
