Planted this clematis for my mother in 2005. Transplanted it to my home after her death in 2006. Gets morning sun; roots are shaded. It is gorgeous. Even with improper pruning (plant was incorrectly labeled as a jackamanni), it has flourished and is a showpiece of my garden. Very easy maintenance too.
