(Tall Garden Phlox) One of the tallest and most stand-out plants in the GARDEN GIRLS® series, GARDEN GIRLS® ‘Material Girl’ Phlox makes a bright statement in the garden. Like other tall garden phlox in the series, it has a strong ability to rebloom throughout the summer and is fairly resistant to powdery mildew. ‘Material Girl’ features deep pink, almost fuchsia blooms that form a fragrant cluster at the top of tall green stems. These blooms appear in midsummer and it will continue to rebloom into the late summer. Hardy in zones 3-8, this is a native perennial that can grow as tall as 36-38 inches and can spread up to 26-30 inches wide. Phlox grows best in full sun and in moderate to moist soil. Don’t overhead water if possible, this will help further prevent powdery mildew. It is recommended to deadhead the spent blooms for additional blooms later in the summer. Try planting your GARDEN GIRLS® ‘Material Girl’ Phlox with complimentary perennials like ornamental grasses, russian sage, veronicas, and more.
