(Coneflower) A new addition to the SOMBRERO® series, SOMBRERO® ‘Mandarin Mambo’ Echinacea features bright orange blooms with a reddish tint. This is a prolific bloomer so you’re sure to see plenty of color with this coneflower. Deep green foliage and sturdy stems appear underneath the blooms, forming an upright growth habit. Hardy in zones 4-9, this echinacea is a better performer for those in cooler zones, as it is hardy down to -25 degrees Fahrenheit. It can reach a maximum height of 18-20 inches and can spread up to 22-24 inches. Plant SOMBRERO® ‘Mandarin Mambo’ Echinacea in full sun and well-drained soil for best growing results. It is drought tolerant once established, but it is recommended to water moderately. We also recommend deadheading the spent blooms to keep the plant looking nice and to promote a longer flowering period. You’re sure to get many butterflies visiting, as coneflowers are one of their favorite plants in the garden. It is also deer resistant so you won’t have to worry about these critters munching on the beautiful blooms. SOMBRERO® ‘Mandarin Mambo’ Echinacea begins blooming mid summer and continues to bloom into the fall. Plant in the garden with complimentary annuals, shrubs, or other perennials.
