(Spiderwort) Try the unique Tradescantia ‘Webmaster’ in your garden! The foliage of tradescantia, also known as Spiderwort, is similar to that of a daylily in appearance. However, the flowers on this spiderwort are significantly smaller at only 2″ wide. Tradescantia ‘Webmaster’ features small purple flowers forming a soft triangular shape with its 3 petals. Its long thin foliage is green in color. This native perennial can reach a maximum height of 18 inches and spread up to 24 inches long. It is hardy in zones 3-9, and is very versatile. It can be planted in full sun, part shade, or shade locations with moist soil. Flowers appear in early summer and last into midsummer. Once you notice the flowers start to decline, it is recommended to cut the plant back in order to keep it healthy and promote a possible second flush of blooms. These blooms will attract butterflies and bees to the garden. Plant ‘Webmaster’ as a border plant, in mass, or in containers. Tradescantia ‘Webmaster’ is a Proven Winners® Perennial.
