There is a new Angelonia that will be making its appearance in gardens and containers this spring, it is Angelface® Super Blue Angelonia ( Super pink and Super White). You may be thinking ‘Why does it have the word “super” in its name?’ I am here to tell you it is because this is a ‘super’ exciting new offering!
To trim or not to trim, that is a big question! The weather is cooling off and your garden perennials and flowering shrubs are probably starting to look sad. I often get asked “Can I trim my Hydrangeas?”, “Does my Hydrangea bloom on new or old growth? New or old wood?”
When space is limited we recommend compact plants. That being said compact space can be a little different for those who live in the big city who may be lucky to have a 10×10 garden or those who live in an urban area with a slightly bigger back yard. I am going to concentrate on shrubs that have been breed to take less than 3 foot of space, where in the past may have reached heights and widths of 5-8 foot.
For many urban gardeners the thought of shrubs is just not even a thought, shrubs just get way to big! In the past that may have been true, but now there are several ‘old’ shrubs that have been breed to have compact/dwarf habits. Again I will remind you “You don’t have to give up your dreams, you can just shrink them.”
A great perennial has just gotten better! Agastache have long been known for their long bloom time from early Summer through the fall, but for many they would only last for one season. Agastache have just gotten better for more climates, hardy down to zone 5. New for 2014, I would like to introduce to you the Kudos™ series of Agastache.

An amazing plant that performs all summer long, Lobularia ‘Dark Knight’ is a standout new annual for 2015! In several applications such as in garden beds and combination designs, ‘Dark Knight’ added that superb splash of light I was hoping for.
A fresh spring day leads to a walk around the neighborhood. On this walk you see a large, beautiful shrub that is blooming yellow. You love the look of it but again, you just don’t have a yard or garden that will fit it. No worries, we carry Forsythia in several size options.
