(Clematis) A garden beauty, 'Candida' is one of the best white clematis we offer! It features large 9 inch pure white flowers with yellow anthers, making quite a statement in the landscape, as well as a stunning cut flower. Standing 8 to 12 feet tall, 'Candida' will need the support of a trellis, arbor, or fence. A repeat bloomer, 'Candida' produces its first round of flowers in May and June off of the previous seasons growth, followed by a second round of blooms in July through September on new growth. Some gardeners say that they prefer the second round of blooms better, so they will trim their plants back in the fall. Provide 'Candida' with full sun to part shade and mulch well to keep the roots cool. Enjoy knowing the deer and rabbits should avoid this plant in your garden.

Incredible Review by Pittsburgh Gardener | Zone: 6a
This clematis is incredible. We planted it 3 years ago and it is full of blooms, just like the picture, and has thick, lush foliage. I couldn't ask for more! We are right on the border of zones 5 & 6. (Posted on 5/27/2014)
Later Blooms Review by Ellen W | Zone: 5b
I planted these under a Star Magnolia which blooms so early that I tried to fake a later bloom with the Clematis Candida. (Posted on 6/12/2013)
Nice Blooms Review by Mary | Zone: 8
Planted this year and has had nice blooms so far. It's only about 3 feet tall but is growing even in hot, hot weather. It gets shade at about 2pm. (Posted on 6/29/2012)
Outstanding Review by Bill L | Zone: 6a
I have two, they are 12 feet tall and the most beautiful clematis I have ever seen. Mine are 6 years old now but were blooming the year after I planted them. Outstanding plant! (Posted on 5/25/2012)
GORGEOUS!! Review by Carolyn | Zone: 7
GORGEOUS!! I have this planted going up my chimney with Stella D'Oro in front to keep the clematis roots shaded. I've had to extend the trellis because it just grows and grows! Beautiful white huge blooms! I've had many compliments! I turn the flood lights on at night and it just glows in the dark! (Posted on 5/24/2009)
