(Coral Bells) Beautiful compact mounds of color are what Coral Bells DOLCE® ‘Frosted Berry’ brings to the landscape. A sport of ‘ Wildberry’, Heuchera DOLCE® ‘Frosted Berry’ is similar in size and habit but features dark foliage with a silver overlay. The 5-6 inch leaves have dark, near black, veining with the silver overlay. New growth emerges with a hint of pinkish purple and as the leaves mature turn deep near-black color with burgundy pink undersides. Standing 10-14 inches tall and creating a 20-inch wide mound, DOLCE® ‘Frosted Berry’ has dark stems and white bell-shaped flowers with pink calyxes. Compared to DOLCE® ‘Silver Gumdrop’, ‘Frosted Berry’ has a taller, more rounded habit with smaller flowers. Hardy in zones 4-9, Coral Bells can be grown in full sun to full shade locations. We find that a bit of sun helps intensify the coloration. Heuchera can be grown in poor to average soil conditions and require regular watering. These semi-evergreen perennials provide color to the garden nearly year-round. Easy to grow, DOLCE® ‘Frosted Berry’ is a nice selection for borders, containers, or planted in mass.
